Gain Practical Skills and Knowledge In Horticulture Certification
Do you like getting your hands dirty and working outdoors?Â
The horticulture industry is the place you can truly grow your career dreams and create a flourishing life.
Our certificate courses in horticulture are a mix of theory and practical. However, we believe in the power of hands-on learning to focus your skills, so our trainers come to you.
How do we do it? FTA’s Certificate II and Certificate III courses focus on combining theory with hands-on, practical skills. Each horticulture course will have different practical elements, from learning to operate basic machinery, setting up irrigation systems to production nursery tasks and landscape design.Â
Assessments are also approached in this way. The theory component may be assessed Online or you can choose to leave technology behind and use a Workbook. Â
It’s important that we know what you know but how you do it. For this reason, a practical Assessment is conducted at your place of work or worksite with fit-for-purpose facilities and equipment which are to be made available to your FTA trainer & Assessor for training and assessment purposes.
Working with machinery and in the great outdoors, away from the security of a classroom, can also bring with it challenges. As a result:
- You will be safe. The agriculture and horticulture courses focuses heavily on work health and participant safety
- The environment will thank you. Environmentally sustainable work practices are encouraged throughout the courses
Don’t know what you want to be?
