The CPC60220 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) is designed to meet the needs of senior managers within the building and construction industry who are seeking to obtain a Queensland Building and Construction QBCC Builder Open licence.
You will gain the advanced expertise necessary to provide advisory, administrative and management services for the construction of a range of building projects, including high-rise and complex structures.

The CPC60220 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) can be funded under the Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Higher Qualification Initiative* You may also be eligible for RPL allowing you to fast track your qualification as well as potentially receive credit towards a pathway into a Bachelor of Construction.

The CPC60220 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) is for advanced and experienced Building & Construction professionals wanting that next level of achievement. It is ideal for senior managers, advisory contractors and high-level executives in the Building & Construction industry.
Ways to Study
To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in all 4 core units and 6 elective units.
Core Units (4)
- BSBWHS516 – Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining an organisation’s WHS management system
- CPCCBC6001 – Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for large building projects
- CPCCBC6003 – Establish, maintain and review contract administration procedures and frameworks
- CPCCBC6018 – Manage processes for complying with legal obligations of a building and construction contractor

- CPCCBC6014 – Apply structural principles to the construction of large, high-rise and complex buildings
- CPCCBC6013 – Evaluate concrete performance for multi-storey buildings
- CPCCBC6016 – Assess construction faults in large building projects
- CPCCBC6017 – Evaluate services layout and connection methods for the planning of large building projects
- CPCCBC6007 – Develop, plan and implement building and construction environmental management processes
- CPCCBC6006 – Manage the procurement and acquisition of resources for building and construction projects

The course duration will vary depending on your experience, skills and chosen study mode. As a guide:
- Between 18– 24 months depending on your current experience and skills
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 3-6 months- this term may be extended by Funding Criteria, amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required – eligibility criteria apply

- Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Higher Level Skills General Program 2020/21 Contract)
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022(for the Apprentice Advance+ Higher Level Skills Program 2020/21 Contract)
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Major Projects program 2020/21 Contract).
- Fee for Service: 3-12 months subject to the amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required
Your skills will be assessed through a mix of practical and theory tasks. Which is essentially showing us what you’ve learnt and how you do it.
Theory and Practical Assessment will be assessed Online. Practical Assessment will be conducted online through instructions and workplace activities conducted in your place of work . You will then make these completed tasks available to your trainer via the online learning platform to assess.
