Course Structure What this course offers
This civil construction operations course is your leg up into management level operations. It is aimed at anyone wanting to work in roles that plan, manage and supervise infrastructure projects or civil construction works.
To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in all 5 core and 7 elective units. Refer below for the core units of competency and a sample of suggested electives:

- BSBOPS402 – Coordinate business operational plans
- BSBWHS411 – Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs
- RIICWM401E – Supervise civil works

The course duration will vary depending on your experience, skills and chosen study mode. As a guide:
- Between 12 – 24 months depending on your current experience and skills
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 3-6 months- this term may be extended by Funding Criteria, amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required – eligibility criteria apply
- CSQ
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Higher Level Skills civil program 2020/21 Contract).
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Apprentice Advance+ Higher Level Skills Civil program 2020/21 Contract).
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Major Projects program 2020/21 Contract).
- Fee for service: 3-12 months subject to the amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required
Your skills will be assessed through a mix of practical and theory tasks. Which is essentially showing us what you’ve learnt and how you do it.
Theory may be assessed Online or via Workbook. Practical Assessment will be conducted at your place of work or work site with fit for purpose facilities and equipment which are to be made available to your FTA trainer & Assessor for training and assessment purposes.
